It is a pleasure to share my story with all my Adlandpro friends. So who is that lady hidding behind a picture of a panda bear?

THE FORMATIVE YEAR

My life was shaped by my the small village of Pandora, Ohio found in the middle of corn, melon, potato fields. It was a sheltered life with little knowledge of the outside world. I was born the youngest of 6 children to a father (Swiss) and mother (English) who struggled to support us. My father was a day laborer always seeking work and my mother was a full time house wife. I earned my FIRST bicyle in Jr. High school while saving my lunch money I worked in the cafeteria to earn my lunch. That was my first lesson in economics. If you want something bad enough, earn it.

School was very difficult as I had no example in my homelife of learning and the importance of education. In Jr. High I was offered the opportunity to spend time helping in a second grade class. I admired the way the teacher worked with her class, and thus my destiny was determined. My grades improved and the desire for an education became my focal point. I never turned back but persued all the courses necessary to get me into college.

We were tested in the Senior year to see what our apptitude or job skills were. When I told the man I wanted to be a teacher, he said I could never make it through college. My next choice was to be a police officer. " No " he said, "you have to live in a big city, anyway women can't be police officers." That was when I discovered a very obvious part of my personality. "No one tells me I can't"...the strong willed child won out. (It was a proud moment when my neice, a generation later became a police officer and earned recognition as the officer of the year in Lima, Ohio).

My father offered to pay my way through college if I would attend our Church college, just 6 miles from home. Because a friend was going to Bowling Green State University I was determined to follow. She didn't go and I went. Another lesson in life, don't do as others do, be your own self. I transferred to Bluffton College (Father knows best) and allowed my father to pay most of my way. I earned a B.S degree in Elementary Education and then taught for 3 years.

Now I must backtrack to the most delightful time of my life. While in college, I worked summers at Mackinac Island Michigan. It was here that my eyes were opened to the world. I was away from my sheltered small town life, meeting people from all over the world. The govenor of Michigan has his only home on the island. There were the boat races that ended at Mackinac Island. Cruise ships stop at the Island. Famous people came to the island. I saved my money in a fudge box and when it was full, a money order was purchased to be sent home. When I finished college, I owed my parents, $1,500.

This was a good lesson in independence and responsibility. I stayed out of trouble and earned my education....so my parents must have taught important values. NOTE: Most college students today owe in excess of $40,000 at the end of 4 years.

YOUNG ADULT LIFE

I married a dashing young, bright student at the University of Michigan. He showed me how to live the good life even tho I was putting him through school. We both taught school near Ann Arbor Michigan. Then I stayed home to raise 2 children that we adopted. We were the nice young couple with 2 lovely children, so respected in the community. Little did I realize that this would soon crash. He became a full fledged alcoholic, unfaithful husband, which turned me into what it now called a "co-dependent". All the rescueing I did was to no avail as he deserted us.

Upon return to Ohio, I returned to the only thing I knew, teaching. However, I did not have a valid teaching certificate. I was able to secure a teaching position in a special education school with the promise that I would get special training. My speciality then was in behavioral management which was used for 23 years in the classroom. In the meantime I remarried after finding a man who was raised in the same enviornment and just a few miles from my hometown. After 17 years he developed a tumor on his optic nerve, became blind, unable to walk, and suffered dementia. Upon his death, not wishing to return to teaching I found employment in a warehouse.

THE INTERNET

A year ago in May, I broke my foot one week after putting in the internet. Oh, boy now I can stay home and learn how to do this. The next thing I hear the words "Fire the Boss". Sounds good and so exciting, make millions, create multiple streams of income, have a downline of hundreds. I fell for it all. You wouldn't want to know what this conservative, thrifty, independent person lost on.

ADLANDPRO

I arrived here as many do placing a free ad. Then I receive an invitation to be a friend. Now I find there are forums with people joking and telling how to make money. But nothing is happening. On a conference call, I hear "Write articles to help people".

I had struggled to learn a way to get around on Adlandpro, so I decided if I had to learn, maybe others did too. The "Learning About Adlandpro" forum was created from my personal experience.

Next came recipes from people around the world, The Adlandpro Cookbook. Now I was starting to see that helping people was helping me.

Asking opinions proved to be a turning point. Over 6,000 people have opened the forum "Cool or Confusion". All of a sudden, this quiet person had stirred all of Adlandpro with the largest forum participation and "Lost, Stolen, kidnapped" proved that through humor and working together we get things done. In one week, 3 invitations to be a featured person were offered to me. All were declined. Your friendship is all the honor I desire.

So here's what I am about.

I promote English, Spanish and Chinese on En101,internet program.

As I learn about tools here, I share with my friends

As I learn marketing skills, forums to teach others are being created.

I am gathering persons here who are networking with me and together we will learn and support each other.

I am sponsoring Community Events (folk festival, cookbook, and more to come) which are giving ad exposure to my friends.

Here are my forums: Go visit, enjoy, learn, share.

Behavioral management is the science of understanding why people do what they do and how to move people to do what one would like them to do. We will be applying this science in our new group of networking individuals at : http://www.optinmastercourse.com/mahofst.html. You are invited to join our master course. It is free with re-branding rights at $27.

Congrats Mary for being in the Spotlight

...loving-kindness...biggest smiles...

Little stones make big mountains,
Little steps can cover miles,
Little acts of loving-kindness
Give the world it's biggest smiles...

Little words can soothe big troubles
Little hugs can dry big tears,
Little candles light the darkness,
Little memories last for years...

Little dreams can lead to greatness,
Little victories to success~
It's the little things in life
That brings the greatest happiness...

When I think about all the little things,
warm thoughts of you always come to mind
and all the joy that friendship brings,
always and forever sharing it online...

Let's welcome our Spotlighted Friend of this week:
Tanya Vargas
from Huntington Beach, CA

Here is Tanya Vargas' Bio:

I sincerely appreciate being honored in the Spotlight of Friends! Thanks Lee Lu!

I was born in Long Beach, CA, and raised in Midway City, CA. I have a brother 11 months older, and a sister 1 ½ years younger. Yep. I'm the middle child. My brother is a mechanic for the US Postal Service, and my sister is a nurse. My parents have been married 44 wonderful years, and Jesse & I will be celebrating 25 this October. You can read more about my childhood and where I grew up in LaNell's forum where I was featured.

Jesse and I met playing racquetball, and married following a short 6 month courtship. We began our life together in Anaheim, and that's where Janelle was born. After a year, we moved to Orange, CA, and had our second daughter, Sarah. We lived in Orange for about 5 years, and then bought our first house in Santa Ana, CA, where we spent the next 15 years raising our girls. We now live in Huntington Beach, CA, in the home we purchased from my Grandfather. Janelle married March 2005, after completing a degree in Wildlife, Fish, & Conservation Biology, with a specialty in Behavioral Ecology, at UC Davis. She went on to obtain teaching credentials and is now teaching 8th grade Math & Science. Sarah is currently attending Cal State University Long Beach. Her goal is to be a multiple subject teacher. She was just engaged in January, and will be getting married in July 2007. We are very proud parents.

Pets? Oh. we've got pets. We have 3 orange tabby polydactyl (6 toed) cats, Bonnie, Clyde, and Lucky. We have a female Shih-Tzu, Christi, who just turned 12. What a great dog! Lakota is our baby Chocolate Lab, although she is growing so fast. The 2 dogs are actually getting along great. Additionally, we have several cockatiels and a Koi & goldfish pond. We just noticed we have at least 3 babies, but can't tell if they're Koi or goldfish.

Jesse has worked for the US Postal Service for the past 23 years, and is currently an OIC. The next step is Postmaster. I am an Assistant Controller, and have worked for the same company for the past 16 years. I landed my first accounting job while in my senior year of high school, and have been in this career ever since. I enjoy my 'day job', and have found a creative outlet in my hobbies.

My Grandmother taught me to crochet when I was about 8, and I also learned to sew about the same time. I used to make many of my own clothes and some for family and friends too. I haven't done that kind of sewing in a long time. I started beading a few years ago when my daughters and I decided to make beaded bobby pins for Christmas gifts. That was all it took for me to get hooked. I have had my website, Tanya's Bead 'n Craft, since about that time, and it continues to steadily grow. Another thing I enjoy doing is building websites. Most of what I've learned has been from Internet guides and tutorials. I write all of my own code instead of using WYSIWYG software, although, a program would probably save me some time these days. I really like to have control of my code. I recently got a new Canon Rebel digital camera, and have been learning how to use the macro setting. I have taken so many pictures of flowers and gardens, and am amazed at how good they have come out. You can see some of my photos here - Flower & Garden Photos.

A little more about me. I'm a detail oriented person. I'm not very talkative until I get to know a person a bit. I tend to sit back, listen, and observe. I can be excitable, and when that happens, I talk way too fast. Good thing my hubby is very witty, because I tend to be on the dry side. I am fair, patient, and compassionate. My family teases me because the sentimental commercials and movies make me cry. The tissue box is always handy. My favorite books usually have to do with science, law, crime, and are intellectually stimulating. For fun, we dance, camp, and spend lots of time with our family and friends.

I am enjoying being a part of this community, making new friends, and learning new things from the many educated and intelligent members of Adland.

Tanya :-)

How Good It Feels...

Ringing BellsHow good it feels to be alive,

and to appreciate and enjoy life.

How good it feels to wake up every day,

and to watch the little ones play.

How good it feels to dream at night,

and then wake up to beautiful sunlight.

How good it feels to have good friends,

who will be with you until life's end.

How good it is to have the support of loved ones,

and be able to go out and have fun.

How good it feels to hear, touch, smell, taste, and see,

and live in a time in which we can be whatever we want to be.

How good it feels to breathe in air

and to be able to recognize my happiness and share.

We have the pleasure to introduce our STAR GUEST of this week:
Michael Caron!

Hello My Good Friends,

For those of you that don't know me yet, my name is Michael James Caron (Mike). I was born (which suprises a lot of people) in the small village of East Taunton, Massachusetts which is located four miles East of Taunton, Massachusetts. It makes it convienieant. I was the youngest of ten. I understand that my mother planned to have more, however when I was born the doctor looked at me and slapped my mother. I tried to help her, but I was tied up at the time. One of my sisters had told me that my mother would have had thirteen, but she had had three mis-carriages. She never did tell me which one I was. I got along the best that I could with my brothers and sisters, considering that the closest in age was my sister Irma who was seven years my senior. Now, she's an old fogey. As the result of having been hit in the mouth with a golf club when I was seven, I pretty much grew up learning what ridicule was. That taught me at an early age not to poke fun at people, because the scars never do go away. I joined the United States Air Force in 1963, three years after I was considered 4-F. I didn't like that label, especially since I didn't own cattle, sheep, or any other animal. I was married three times, the third time being the Angel that God sent Down for me to love. Shirley.

Throughout my life, I have ventured into various projects to try to gain some respect and, of course, money. I do, by the way, have three kids from my second marriage, one of each. Shirley suffers from Epilepsy, Has two Steel rods in her spine, and broke her right leg in three places in 1984 when she was struck down by a car while crossing a street at the cross-walk but is more woman than any woman I have ever met. Growing up, I was always considered the Black Sheep of the family, even by my parents to my face because all of my other brothers were successful in life. It bothered me until I realized that Black Wool is much rarer than White Wool, therefore demanding a higher price.

At times, I can be very seious, however I would much rather be a person that can understand others feelings, help people in times of need, and find humor in my own life-style. An example of that is just the other morning when I got out of bed and went to the bathroom, I laughed for about ten minutes. It was than that I realized it was my face I was looking at in the mirror and I cried. I don't believe in turning away from a person because of their looks. I have met some beautiful girls in my life-time with drop dead bodies, but when they opened their mouths to speak, the language alone showed just how ugly they really were. It is what is inside each and everyone of us that tells where the real beauty lies

Shirley has been extremely helpful with our business M&S Music Management by knowing what to look for in talent. If a girl has a great voice but not such a great body or face, we do our best to help them improve on those by finding clothes that will compliment their body, finding a hair style that will accent their good features, however, if their teeth are bad, we do recommend that they do get them fixed. I don't want anyone to suffer the insults that I did. When Shirley came into my life she helped me to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Fortunetely, I saw the train in time to jump out of the way.

I love everybody, no matter what their race. If I cannot understand what a person is saying I will do my very best to use hand gestures to let them know or find someone that can help me understand because if a person takes time out to communicate with me I want to respect that and make every effort possible to understand them.

Finally, if I have an opinion on a certain subject and someone else does not share that opinion, I feel that it is only right to allow that person to have his or her opinion. After all, I would not want to be ridiculed for my opinion so why do so to another? I have a strong faith in God, but do not always feel that churches are teaching us the right doctrine. That will never turn me away from my belief. There have been too many signs or miracles to dis-count the existence of God. I also believe in AdlandPro Community and feel that if you are not on my friends list, that does not mean that you are not my friend. It just simply means that you are a friend that I have not as yet had the pleasure of meeting.

Thank you and God Bless You

Michael Caron

Let's welcome The Newest Guest Star of
The Weekly Spotlight of Friends
a person with a good sense of humor and
who cares a big deal about his friends:

Larry Anderson

Hello Everyone,

Thank you Spotlight Gazette Team for this honor.

I was born at 7:46am in Estherville, Iowa, to Richard and Ruby Anderson. My father was german-born but adopted into a Norwegian family, and my mother was French, Cree, and Cajun.

I am the youngest of 3 boys, and have a younger sister. My father was a farmer, and we moved a lot. My parents were loving but firm with us. Then, my parents divorced when I was 13, and for a long time I blamed my father for the divorce. Many years later, a friend asked me if I realized there were two sides to every story, and I finally was able to forgive my father.

My brothers were grown at this time, and my sister and I moved with my mother to an apartment house in Spencer, Iowa. I was popular and kind of a goof in high school, then I dropped out to join the U.S. Navy in 1962 when I was 17. I did receive my GED in 1968.

I was in boot camp when the Cuban crisis occurred, and we almost had our training cut short to go join the ships down there. Fortunately, the crisis ended before our unit was called to duty.

After finishing boot camp, I flew to the Phillipines to join my ship, the world's 3rd largest aircraft carrier, the USS Ranger. I spent the next year and 9 months aboard the Ranger, and received an honorable medical discharge in 1964.

I spent the next few years moving from job to job to job, unsure of what I wanted to do in life. I met my first wife in 1974, and it was NOT a match made in heaven. What I hoped would last forever fell apart after a few short months, and the divorce hit me very hard.

I started drinking at this time, quite heavily. One night I was so intoxicated, I wrecked my car. I wasn't hurt, but the accident sobered me up. I cleaned up my act, and shortly after I met my second wife, Linda.

When I married Linda, we moved to South Dakota. She already had 3 children when we married, and we had 2 daughters together. Later on, we also adopted our grandson.

We became good friends with our neighbors, and the husband was a truck driver. He taught me how to drive, and that is what I did until I was forced to retire.

In 1996, Linda passed away from complications of combined surgery and cancer. I was in North Carolina when she died, and the trucking company I worked for flew me back home for the funeral. I had just been home, and she seemed to be getting better. Then, just like that, she was gone.

We still had 2 minor children, so I took a local job driving a truck for a furniture company. After the kids were on their own, I moved to St. Joseph, Missouri, and went to work for WOW Trucking. I moved back to Iowa a couple of years later and went to work for Zeitner & Sons Trucking, drove for them for 5 months, then had my first heart attack in 1999. I had quadruple bypass surgery in 2000, and went back to work. Then, in 2003, I had my second heart attack. The doctors gave me a pacemaker and orders to retire. The Department of Transportation agreed, and I went on disability. I spent 3 months with my daughter, then moved to an apartment complex in Sioux City, Iowa. Last July, I moved to my current apartment in Sioux City.

I have had a computer for quite awhile. In October, 2005, I joined the Free Store Club. I liked the idea of owning my own online store, and the price was great--FREE! I joined AdlandPro at this time, to help promote my Free Store.

At this time, I have 2 forums going: Weird Facts,

The Special Things In Life

It's The Special Things In Life

That Make It Mean So Much.

The Sun, The Rain, The Sky;
The Thoughts and The Touch.

If We Let These Precious Things

Float Out To an Endless Sea,

We Lose Our Hope, Our Love,

And Most, Our Reason To Be.

Happiness Is... taking in all the wonders of life -- its joys, its sorrows, its sunshine, its smiles -- learning from the experiences each one brings you, and then, from a caring heart, giving them all away again.

This week we have the pleasure to learn more about our special friend,

Tim Southernwood

He was so kind to share some special moments of his life with us.

Thanks for giving me this honor and opportunity to reveal to Adlanders more about myself.

It’s tough to know where to start, so I guess I’ll just start and see where it takes me.
I was born and raised on the Canadian prairies and would be plugged as falling into the tail end of the Baby Boomer Generation. Sex Drugs and Rock&Roll had already taken on a harsher tone by the time I became aware of that scene.
Overall, I lived a pretty sheltered life.
I grew up in a small town called Moose Jaw. During my childhood it was pretty quiet there, but the "Jaw" has a fairly "colorful" history. It was even nick-named “little Chicago” for the fact that many of the gangsters from that city would take the “Sioux-Line RR” to Moose Jaw to "cool off" for a bit. Read "Red Lights on the Prairies" for a look at the history of Moose Jaw.
I am the eldest of five kids, my parents’ good upstanding members of the community and church goers. Hardworking and resourceful people, they passed onto us many things that I am so grateful for today. From vocal and piano training to sports, and my scholastic achievements, all the choirs and travel, and our annual camping trips. My parents made many sacrifices for all of us, unfortunately it took until I was an adult and a parent to realize how much they sacrificed for us..I would likely have been much more appreciative at that time.
For me Moose Jaw was very much like an oasis, and on two counts.
One, Moose Jaw is situated in an area of very flat Prairie, but has a small river which over the millennia has carved a series of meandering valleys. This allowed the growth of trees and brush that you don't normally see on the flat land and it created a very interesting backdrop for my youth.
Compare my youth to a Tom Sawyer(ish) existence. We built rafts, and forts, fished and played in that valley. We climbed the RR trestles to capture pigeons, we skated on the river in the winter, and swam and canoed in the summer.
I say we swam, at least until the pollution got to a point where it was no longer safe to swim, and that was a pity. It was such a perfect place until the Railroad and the city sewers made it a cesspool. Only in recent years have they been able to clean that mess up.
Secondly, Moose Jaw was an oasis during that era of crisis (the 60's and 70's) Crime was never a major factor. The city has its own police force, but in my memory only had to deal with moderate infractions.
I recall one incident of a young adult knocking an older lady down and stealing her purse. It was the talk of the town for months..never before…such a tragedy...what are things coming to?..
I guess in a way that was a harbinger of change.
But during my youth we never had to carry a house key..the doors were never locked. I never had to chain up my bicycle anywhere I went.
Growing up in that environment certainly made me the person I am today. The Prairies taught me to appreciate the smallest things. If you can find beauty on a (seemingly) featureless prairie, imagine what it's like to the visit a huge forest, or the mountains! The smells and sounds of a hot prairie day come to my mind instantly as being among my most favorite things. The wind (ever present), the crickets and other insects, the meadow larks, the visual of waving fields of wheat like golden waves on the ocean.
Then too the effects of growing up in a small and close community, where those who did not conform to certain moral standards were quickly put in line.
I am so totally grateful for that upbringing. I like having a strong moral and ethical belief system, and I love being able to see the beauty in the smallest or plainest of things as well as in the spectacular.
After a point I guess that spirit of adverturism from my youth made Moose Jaw a little too small for me and I set out (as we all do in some manner) to find myself. I did some hitch-hiking (which was still legal in those days), worked in a lumber mill for a time..living with hippies, but still had not found my "niche", and could have made some very bad choices.
Instead I made a good choice and enlisted with the Canadian Armed Forces, spending just over 4 years in the Navy.
Basic training (boot camp), and serving on the ships was just what I needed. I learned more about personal discipline, and more about life in those years than during all my protected years in MJ. They are so right in saying "There's no life like it"
It wasn't very lucrative. I was paid $500 per month at the start of my military career back in 1977.

Since that time I've done many things, perhaps still in a way exploring as in my youth, still searching for that niche perhaps, always willing to learn.
In fact at my present position with the University of Alberta, I am in a unique position to continue my learning process. I'm politically minded, socially leaning with a liberal bent. I believe in speaking my mind, not afraid to give my opinion and always open to constructive criticism. I believe a good leader is one who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and join in the work.

I believe music, literature, and art are the highest forms of human creativity, and I believe in God, Family, and Country, in that order.

I was introduced to sales as a kid. We sold iced tea to the construction workers during the summer, and then I sold things I would find like old bottles or telephone line wire insulators. I guess the entrepreneurial spirit once instilled never really leaves.
I tried Amway way back in the early 80’s, but found it wasn’t my “cup o tea”. I tried a few other things, but took quite a break from any form of sales beyond my day job at the University, where it’s been my task for over 14 years to handle all the surplus equipment of an institution the size of a small city.

More recently though, the urge (and economic necessity) brought me back to marketing, of course now with the internet twist as opposed to hawking door to door.
Even through all my experience I found I had much to learn and took a few bumps along the way, but I guess that was the price of my education here.
I’m very fortunate to have come to Adland, like many for the advertising, but have remained more for the community and camaraderie. Being here has also opened many doors for me, none greater than the chance to join with other like minded marketers to form the company of WOSAT.
I see many more good things coming in the future. I see positive changes to online marketing, where communities like Adland will help to educate new marketers, and our communities and communications will make it harder for the unscrupulous to operate without challenge.
Bravo to Bogdan for his vision, and Bravo to Adland members who make Adland the terrific and growing community that it is.

Thanks again for this opportunity, and thanks to all my many friends here in Adland!

Sincerely,
Tim Southernwood

WHY?

Why?

So many Children suffer
so many children die,
do you ever sit and wonder
sit and wonder why?

Why Our Children are the victims
of a pure and evil fate?
why the people they so care about
send them to that 'pearly gate'?

Why so many little victims
disappear without a trace?
why you never get to see
that sad and desperate face?

Why you never feel the pain
of what that child endures?
Why it 'doesnt really matter'
as long as that child's not yours?

Why you read it in the papers
and see it on the news?
Why You turn your blind eye
when only You can choose?

Why it does not register
to you inside your brain?
even though its happening
time and time again?

Do you never wonder
how it must really feel?
to know that this pain IS your life
and your life is very real?

Do you realise you could stop this
if you joined our global voice?
you would be heard and a child would smile
and UVACA would rejoice!

Let's welcome
The STAR GUEST of the Spotlight of Friends...

I was born in a place called Wigan, in the North-West of England in 1967.

My Parents were working class and I am the middle child of five. (Aptly, I was nick-named Bah-Bah, as in Black-Sheep!)

I began writing at the age of seven. I wrote my first poem and was so in ore of the reaction from others that I soon realise I had a talent.

As a long-term carer for my disabled parents I never really took the time to take a professional look at my Writing. I suffered a terrible thirty years and experienced things that even people twice my age cannot personally relate to!

Eventually, at the age of 33 I met my husband; he ‘rescued’ me from all evil!! He is my ‘hero’! We have seven children between us!

After I met my husband I began to ‘grow’; I developed a confidence that I had never had before! I took up a Drama course: (London Academy of Drama and Performing Arts) I was also signed up to a modelling agency, (at that age!) I entered a beauty contest and even though I, of course, didn’t win, I felt on top of the world!

Unfortunately that budding career was cut short by my ever-failing health (I was born a Chronic Asthmatic), suffered. A damaging attack of pneumonia that has left me permanently breathless, and to top that I have been plagued by permanent lingering of drug resistant Tuberculosis!)

So it was then that I returned to my love of writing. I began to write all of the time. I joined the Writer’s Bureau’s Creative Writing Course, I joined the Freelance Writers Association and I began to get my work published! It is the best feeling in the world for me to see my name in print!

I then embarked on my biggest project; to write an entire script of a 6 part serial/screen-play that I had had gnorring away at my brain for some time.

8 months later I had achieved what I once thought was impossible and my script was ready! I am now pleased to be able to say that Channel 4 (British TV) have hold of. my script and it wasn’t rejected!! Hurrah!! I dream of seeing my own series on TV!

Since then I have written my Children’s Books, ‘Pixie Tales’ which are available to purchase here:

http://www.lulu.com/pixietales

And as you all already know 50% of the proceeds from the sale of these books will go to an excellent cause, to Fight Against Child Abuse. As a survivor and a parent of a survivor of Abuse I feel extremely appalled and sickened by the suffering of others and feel passionately about trying to do something that would help to make a difference.

My ultimate personal goal right now is to sell a million books for a wonderful cause and help to make that difference!

I am currently working on my third ‘Pixie Tale’, a book of Poetry, My Biography (in full about my ‘horrific thirty years’ and of course, A Novel! (Well, all writers say that, when asked what they are doing now don’t they!) Lol,

I really am working on a Novel, (Women’s Commercial Fiction)

Now poetry, poetry is my thing. The main reason that I write poetry is, because I can! In fact, I can’t stop my-self sometimes from actually thinking in rhyme! Lol

I enjoy writing poetry immensely and only hope that my readers get as much pleasure out of reading them as I do out of writing them!

One of the best things that has happened to me in recent times is Adlandpro! I have made such wonderful friends and met such wonderful people that I would like to take this opportunity to say a BIG THANK YOU to YOU ALL for allowing me to stand up here in the ‘spotlight’ and be the subject! You have made my day!

Somebody cares if you're happy today,
If your heart is cheerful and light.

Somebody cares if you're feeling good
And everything's going just right.

And somebody hopes that this
message will show,
In a warm little heart-to-heart way..

You're thought of, remembered,

and happily wished
An especially wonderful day!

When Someone Cares ...

When Someone Cares . . .

When someone cares

it is easier to speak,

it is easier to listen,

it is easier to play,

and it is easier to work.

When someone cares

it is easier to laugh.

Thanks for caring about me.

I want you to know

that I care about you!

I love you and I will always

be here for you!

Love never hurries, it is always kind.

It is not jealous, and never boasts of its greatness.

Love is not rude or selfish.

It is always ready to forgive and forget mistakes we make.

Love is no friend of wickedness, but delights in honesty and truth.

Love is strong and never gives up.

It never loses its trust in God or its hope for the future.

Love will survive all things because it is everlasting.

My name is Carol Salisbury and that is my little dog Taffy with me in the picture! Currently we live in Southern California in the good old USA. She is one of the joys that the Lord has blessed me with in my life. She's a little camera shy which is why I'm holding her head to face the camera. I'm not really trying to strangle her ...

I found her in my local shelter after searching for my perfect match for over a year. It certainly was well worth the wait because she is perfect! Well, almost... but that's a different story! Be sure and check out "Taffy's Corner" & "Taffy's Friends" at our website http://youpayitforward.com/ for the rest of our story! If you have "fur babies" that you'd like me to add to "Taffy's Friends" page with a link to your website, just follow the directions there and I'll be happy to do it for you! "Taffy's Friends" page is such a "fun" page to look at (even if you don't have fur baby pics to add to it) that I just love to update it with new pics and links!

Well, back to my story... I was born December 26 in Lynwood, California in %^&*.... hmmmm, what's wrong with my keyboard??? I guess it won't allow birthdates to be inserted in here.... hehehehe! Yes, I am part of that rare species... a true Californian! Yes, it was terrible having my birthday on the day after Christmas. My mother gave me the opportunity to change the day to celebrate my birthday on to any other day of the year so I chose Easter. My child's mind told me if I was going to move it away from Christ's birthday then it should be near his resurrection day! My mom decided we'd just leave the celebration day where it was...

I was the 4th and last child to be born and grew up in a little town called Hollydale which eventually became part of South Gate and is in Los Angeles County in Southern California. I looked like Shirley Temple with all my ringlets (yes, those are really mine!) and I wanted to learn to tap dance just like she did... so I was enrolled in the local park tap class.

I never got to finish that class because the doctor thought I had Scarlet Fever and I was put on bed rest! Turned out I just had knocked knees and ankles that rolled out... so I wore high top orthopedic shoes and special orthotics, you know the kind of shoes they used with those steel leg braces? The doctor said I was lucky that I didn't have to wear the braces. I had to wear that type of shoe until Junior High when I got to wear black & white oxfords... of course they weren't in style any more... and then in High School I got to wear white buck oxfords. They weren't in style either... wonder where my mom found those things anyway???

When I turned 18 I got to wear regular people's shoes! Yahoo! Got a summer job before I started college... liked it so much that I never went to college (except for a few night classes) and continued to work and bought a car. Soon thereafter I met the man I married. He was 13 years older than me and when he asked me out I said I would have to think about it. I told my mom about it and she said go ahead and go out with him just for the fun of it. Well, I ended up falling in love with him and a year later I married him.... and I never let my mom forget it was all her idea!

I divorced him after 20 years of marriage... it seems he just couldn't be a one-woman man. I couldn't handle that since I was a one-man woman. I tried to stick it out since I had been raised that you marry once in your lifetime but I also lived by the "3 strikes and you're out" rule! Actually he is the person that introduced me to network marketing. He went to a business meeting and came back signed up with a nutrition company... I don't even remember what the name of that company was. The next company he got us involved in was NSA water filters for $10,000! Hey, anyone need a water filter? I think I've still got 1 or 2 left in my garage...

Next came Tupperware (my choice, not his!) and I was very successful. But after 8 years of parties, deliveries, packing orders and prospecting for new party chains, I got burned out.... turned in my company car and resigned. I have been involved in many companies since then... mostly to be able to purchase products at wholesale and a few of them to create a residual income. More on that later...

I also owned a Dance Studio for 20 years with my business partner, Barbara Vera, where I taught 6 days a week... choreographed, directed, and produced huge dance concerts and musicals each year. I love teaching and working with students to help them be the best they can be, but owning your own small business is NOT a joy... it is a MILLSTONE around your neck. We lost our lease in 2001 so we no longer have that business, but I still teach 1-2 days a week for another studio where I can just enjoy the perks and not have to deal with all of the headaches of "owning your own business". I have students that perform on Broadway, choreograph for music videos, got a dance degree through a University and are currently teaching dance, others that have received a degree to teach Pilates and Dance Conditioning, and several that are in community and professional dance companies.

One of my students recently auditioned for the world-renowned Alvin Ailey Dance Company and was chosen to join them. She'll be moving to New York this June on full scholarship to begin studying with them and learn their repertoire! She was my student since she was 5 years old and she's now 22! I have another student that has just made the commitment to audition for the Miami City Ballet Company in February 2007 so I have made a commitment to her to work with her every week until then to help her realize her dream. She started dancing with me when she was 12 and is now 26. She has belonged to several different community dance companies already but this will be her first attempt to join a large professional ballet company.

I now do network marketing full time working from home which gives me the time to be more active in my church & local community. It also gives me the time to help take care of my best friend of 29 years who is now in a long term care nursing home after having suffered a very severe stroke following a major surgery in March. I go to see her 3-4 times a week... I would ask for your prayers for her continued recovery in Jesus' name... her name is Barbara Vera. At one point she had been placed in a Hospice Center as the medical community said there was no hope and nothing more they could do but to let nature take it's course. However, God has plans for her and didn't let her die. She is paralyzed on her right side and is unable to speak but her mind and personality are there, and she is getting more alert everyday! Thank you for praying for a continued miracle working in Barbara....

I'm so glad that the company I work with has many different ways of earning money ... two of which are totally passive wherein the company builds your residual income for you. Fortunately for Barbara, she had joined this company as well and is currently earning a residual income that continues to grow each month even though she cannot walk or talk at this time. Currently it is paying her health insurance premiums and is a great help in her life.

So, there you have my story. I am now full-time Internet Marketer and love the freedom and lifestyle of working with my dog at my feet (or lying on my bed). Welcome to my world of "Paying It Forward"! If you aren't sure what that means, I highly encourage you to rent the movie "Pay It Forward"... you'll be glad you did! It could change your perspective on life! Just put on your best smile, start thinking of others and what you can do for them and you can change the world... one person at a time!

To meet us and learn more about Taffy and I, please visit our web site at http://youpayitforward.com/. Be sure to visit Taffy's Corner while you're there for a good chuckle! When you visit Taffy's Friends page (the link is at the end of Taffy's story), be sure to watch "The Dog Video" to laugh your socks off!

Blessings to you all!

The Master Papason

A Mother's Love

There are times when only a Mother's love
Can understand our tears,
Can soothe our disappointments
And calm all of our fears.

There are times when only a Mother's love
Can share the joy we feel
When something we have dreamed about
Quite suddenly is real.

There are times when only a Mother's faith
Can help us on life's way
And inspire in us the confidence
We need from day to day.

For a Mother's heart and a Mother's faith
And a Mother's steadfast love
Were fashioned by the Angels
And sent from God above.

So, please welcome our guest of honour:
James Maxwel,
from Las Vegas

Here is James's Bio

MATRIX - Reloaded

Hey Lisa,

Thanks for this opportunity to re-visit my Ancient Past. Thanks in advance for making this visit to share your thoughts and encouragements on what will soon become "The Lives and Times Of James Maxwel" - if this spotlight thing keeps shining on me! So please sign my GuestBook before I turn into a pumpkin! http://www.goodnewsforall.com/GuestBook/index.php

==================================

In the beginning... (Nope... wrong entry)

I guess the stork miss-read the notation on my delivery card, so the initial "P" for Palace became "P" as in dirt "Poor" in Jamaica.

But who am I to complain. I was the 7th in a brood of 12 children for my Mother and the 1st for my Dad, who proudly dubbed me "Papason" - cute, huh.

For some Godly reason I don't understand 'till this day - my mother thought I was special - must be for the fact that I wouldn't eat solid food for 3 or 4 years - had to have mother's milk and soup. Wouldn't do those country miles on foot, either - my uncle had to carry me on his shoulders most of the time -used to chase my older sister around the yard with a stick, asking her "What's my name?" and she would reply "Master Papason, Sir! Now, you see why the Stork didn't leave me at the Palace - what a tyrant I would be! Like most kids I had imaginary friends and could see spirits from the beyond until I turned off the communication.

My Mother was a saint, generous to a fault and was very spiritual. God Bless Her Soul.

Fast forward - Despite all that I grew up to be very independent - finished my education in Bus Admin and Marketing and took to the business world. Did OK, but I was always a restless adventurer wanting to cover new grounds instead of doing routine stuff. Immigrated to the States, studied Adv in New York and took to selling any thing I could get into.

I was never an avid reader - read magazines and books from the back to the front - but did a lot of reading on success books - Finally decide on my own formula - "Find something you do well and love to do, and fate will take care of the rest.

As those who have read my other Bio Entries know by now that I have a Beautiful and Loving Ex-wife (not the lady on my slides) and three adorable daughters. No sons - which is good because I am not an avid sports fan.

Characters Wanted - Link:

I seem to have innate talents in most of the art forms - signing -writing - graphics -dancing - but no patience for routine and practice. Sorry, Guys. This is getting so long, I surely wouldn't read it.

Thanks again for putting up with me, Love You ALL

My Colors

My Color

All the colors of the rainbow, what a sight to be seen
From the brightest of reds, to the darkest of green

We all can see the rainbow, some more clearly than the rest
our emotions are tied, to the one's we see the best

Some may see the blue, for it is cold as a lonely life,
others may feel the red, for it can smell as an aromatic spice

The color of the sun runs through my veins, for I feel my life is bright
No need for the competition, constant struggle, or the fight.

Can everybody one day find? the ever present pleasures of life
Or do they just except, the daily troubles and strife

Feel the energy, grasp the image in the mirror
Be happy with what you see, without question or the fear.

To find out more about him, here is his BIO!

Hello to all my friends and ones I have yet to meet. As I always do things outside the box I thought who would be the best person to do my Bio other than myself? The only person I could think of was the first woman I fell in love with, my Mother. These are her words as she remembers them.

"Some notes about our son Nick
(His Bio)

Nick was born June 13 -1951 in a small village in Holland. He was a big boy of 9 pounds and a good baby. He never cried and seemed to be content. In 1954 we immigrated to Canada and made it our home. We stayed with friends for 2 weeks and moved in our own apartment. When Nick was 5 his baby brother was born and Nick loved him.Nick has done some crazy things. One day a lady came to the door and told me that he drank milk and cream from the bottles that were standing on the porch. That time the milkman left them early so when Nick went to school he did that . They were only scared that he would get sick. Also Nick went to Catholic school and when the kids were not behaving the nuns would put the kid on his knees under a statue and left them there. Nick had nightmares and would wake up crying, so we transferred him to a public school. The nun had told Nick he would go to hell.He also had karate classes as he was not a fighter .It did not help much as he would not defend himself. Ten years after Nick was born a little baby sister was born and he was crazy about her. He was an inventive kid. One day he had a carton box and was making wings for it and a little wheel .when finished he said “Mom open the window, .I am going to fly. There were so many incidents but these are just a few. Nick went to high school and after that became a sheet metal apprentice. He got a job at A.W. Henley Machine & Tool and worked there for 18 years. Nick married in 1976.After 18 years of marriage they divorced. It took a couple of years to get it all together. He had 3 back operations and is still fighting to have his WSIB file re-opened as he does not get much on disability. Then he met Yvette and they are already 10 years together. They go through thick and thin. At times to keep him busy, Nick started a cigarette tin foil ball. He has got so many friends to save the foil and started it the day he met Yvette. The ball is now about 43lbs, so save your empty packs as this is going into the Guinness Book of Records. Nick is a very caring person and if I have something on my mind, I can always call on him. He is the oldest, the first and also my best friend.
